I'm really NOT amused. I got an email that "An Alaska Airlines flight on your itinerary is no longer being serviced and we
need to rebook you on a new flight." Lord knows, it is hard enough to get out of Fresno, which is why we book early. We are never surprised about changes in flights of an hour or so either ways but this was a mess. We can no longer fly FAT-PDX-OGG... we must fly FAT-SEA-PDX-OGG! Now that is bad enough but I adjusted my thinking and figured it was okay since we still go into Maui at 3p. Then the final blow came when my return flight isn't going to work out either. So disappointed in Alaska Airlines for this. Instead of OGG-SAN-FAT we would need to fly OGG-SEA stay overnight at a hotel they provided and fly home the next morning. Are you serious? Now I want to be flexible but that's a bit much. I opted to ask for other cities and none can get us home the same day. That is rather pathetic! So now my thinking is adjusted to a RT non-stop out of SAC-OGG and just do the drive. It will take less time than waiting in airports. They will probably spring for the hotel the night before but I need to call back for approval from someone in the morning. I have been loyal to Alaska Air and sure like the companion fare we each get once a year, but what good is it when we can't get out of town on it? We shall see.
Postscript: While I was on hold for 10 minutes waiting for the agent they advertised all the new non-stop flights from west coast cities to Hawai'i. As I said, not amused.
